Happy new year, Local 2881 members! Hope you’ve had an enjoyable, refreshing holiday season, and that 2010 will be a healthy and happy year for you!
We have some wellness fairs coming up soon, which are your opportunities to earn those wellness credits. Please read the flyers I’ve linked to below, and be sure to call 1-8777-239-3557 to register. These fairs will NOT be taking walk-ins, so you must register ASAP. Also, if you complete the online health assessment, you can earn more wellness credits.

As part of getting $500 in wellness incentives returned to you from your health coverage co-share, you must complete online health coaching programs. Complete two online Health Coaching programs on www.myuhc.com by May 31st and earn $100 co-share credit ($50 for each program, maximum $100 credit). Additional information is available at www.getfitri.ri.gov, in your HR department, or in the flyers linked below.
PLEASE NOTE: Each of the online health coaching programs takes a minimum of 5 weeks to complete. Each program has 5 levels. After completing each level, the program gives you one week to practice adopting the skills you learned before allowing you to move to the next level. You may take 2 programs at the same time. Sister Pam Galli sent along some information, reminding members to get their wellness incentive credits.
This Friday, February 20 is the deadline to complete the Health Assessment to earn a $100 health care credit. The information is fairly simple and I was told you can skip questions where you do not have the info, it will be accepted, and you can update it later if you want to. I called my doc and they checked my chart and gave me the info over the phone; we only need blood pressure, Total Cholesterol & HDL, dates of flu and tetanus shots. If you attended the Health Fair you will have some info.
There are 2 more Health Fairs scheduled; CCRI in Lincoln on 2/18 from 11-2, or Kent County Court House in Warwick on 2/20 from 12-2. You must preregister by calling 877-239-8557.
While you’re on the website you may want to browse the 5 week Online Health Coaching Programs. You can earn up to $100 by completing 2 of these courses before May 31, 2009.
